AIOLOS meeting at the French Embassy in Berlin – September 2024

It was a great honor being invited by the French Embassy in Berlin to present the AIOLOS outcomes at a high-level meeting on “The role of France and Germany in the pandemic/outbreak detection ecosystem to improve national response and resilience”, along with over 40 public health experts, scientists, policy makers and representatives of WHO, HERA and French and German authorities.

In 2 years, AIOLOS developed a prototype tool based on multi-source real-time data integration and AI-based models, to improve detection and monitoring of respiratory pathogen outbreaks. We presented the prototype at the meeting and discussed with panelists and participants the interest of nontraditional real-time data to enhance traditional surveillance systems and the way forward to foster public-private collaboration and improve preparedness.

Thank you to panelists for the insightful exchanges Marc-Alain Widdowson, Jerôme Weinbach, Cornelius Schmaltz, Isabelle Bekeredjian-Ding, Florence Baron-Papillon, Philip Abdel Malik, Holger Fröhlich, Marta Nunes, Philipp Thiele and Catherine Commaille-Chapus.

We look forward to continuing the discussion with French and German health authorities, HERA and WHO.

Thank you to HE M François Delattre, Ambassador of France in Berlin and Francis Bouyer for warm welcome and excellent meeting.
